Welcome to Statesboro Cooks!  Our website is an extension of the Multi-Media Communication arm of Georgia Southern University, the Communication Arts Department and the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences.

Statesboro Cooks is a student-produced educational/academic program.  The cooking on the show is a means to and end.  Our students are learning hands-on production techniques and applications in the course that produces Statesboro Cooks...but we do hope you like the food, too.

The show airs on Channel 97, the Georgia Southern University television channel.  Air times for the show are 1:00p.m., 7:30p.m., and 1:00a.m. daily.  Channel 97 is a CNN Newsource affiliate.  Additionally, our channel airs The Classic Arts Showcase and The Community Calendar.  We are broadcast to all households with Northland Cable Television in Bulloch County, Georgia.

Channel 97 is a collaborative effort between the Georgia Southern University Communication Arts Department and the City of Statesboro.  Statesboro Cooks frequently features student guest hosts & local cooks from in and around Statesboro, Georgia.  Statesboro Cooks primarily features recipes historic to Bulloch County, although we'll sneak a new one in from time to time.  Our dishes are mainly country-style and of Southern origin.  It's "food to go," especially if you are going to a covered dish dinner, a dinner on the grounds, or a family night supper.  Additionally, Statesboro Cooks explores wild game dishes indigenous to Bulloch County and documents area outdoor sporting activities.

Fall semester, 2010, Statesboro Cooks will begin featuring a Statesboro restaurant and pub in half of the new season productions.  The restaurant selection has been made.  Stay tuned to Channel 97 this Fall to see whose kitchen we're gonna crash.

Thanks for visiting us, and as always, enjoy!
